Anabaptist Disabilities Network is excited to announce that our Congregational Assessment Survey, a tool intended to help your congregation assess its level of accessibility, is now available.
Our two goals are to celebrate progress you are already making and to provide additional suggestions to increase your congregation's accessibility to persons with various disabilities, including mental illness. The survey is a series of questions regarding your church's accessibility measures in the categories of mobility, hearing, sign language, vision, and support. ADN will use your results from the Congregational Assessment Survey to generate an ADN Accessibility Seal for use on your congregational website.
The Accessibility Seal (shown above) has five emblems for each area of accessibility. Congregations can apply for emblems in as many of the five categories as desired. Meeting all the requirements in a category will result in an emblem on your congregation's seal. If you do not meet the requirements for an emblem, ADN will provide resources and guidance for your congregation.
Many thanks to Paul Leichty and Congregational Accessibility Network for the gift of this survey and the many hours of work it took to create it.
