We Are Able: Offering Inclusive Service Opportunities for Youth and Young Adults with IDD

​There are camps offered that serve youth/young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. But what about opportunities for them to serve? Youth/ young adults with IDD have gifts to share and a desire to help others. For over ten years the We Are Able workcamp has offered a 4-day summer service trip for intellectually and developmentally disabled youth/young adults. Youth and adults without IDD can register to serve alongside. Workcampers also enjoy recreation and worship together each day. In this video, ADN Executive Director Jeanne Davies and Board Member Julie Foster talk about offering service trips for youth and young adults with IDD. It was recorded for the Faith Inclusion Network's Community for All Conference on February 26, 2021.
